CHRYSANTHEMUM WEEK WAS A GREAT SUCCESS IN COLOMBIA

During five days, the breeders presented the innovative colors,  textures and shapes of over 500 varieties.

With a computer-assisted panel, moderator Becky Roberts, Floral Director of the Produce Marketing Association (PMA), closed Chrysanthemum Week in Rionegro, Antioquia, on September 3.

The panel was integrated by Joe Don Zetzshe, Marketing Director, H-E-B Blomms; Kate Kennedy, Main Flower Buyer of Whole Foods; Paula Arango, Buyer of the Delaware Valley Florist Group, producers, importers, and local and foreign wholesalers and retailers.

A total of 10 breeder companies welcomed the flower growers and other stakeholders of the floral industry who were present at this event to learn about the characteristics and advantages of the new varieties.

During this week, new business opportunities flourished from conversations with the attendees about the mail challenges that the market poses as to innovation, production, sales, and marketing.
