En el marco de la Conferencia de Distribución Floral WF&FSA en Miami, Florida, Augusto Solano, Presidente Ejecutivo de Asocolflores recibió por parte del Presidente Ejecutivo de WF&FSA Tim Dewey, el Leland T. Kintzele LTK Distinguished Service Award. Esta distinción le rinde homenaje a las personas que han hecho y continúan haciendo contribuciones en la industria floral y son ejemplo de integridad, equidad, perseverancia y decisión.

I will now tell everyone who’s present here today, as well as everyone watching via social media, about how Flowering Together, Asocolflores’s bid for gender equity in the floriculture sector, came to be.

This initiative was born in 2018 when Asocolflores decided to adopt the Sustainable Development Objectives as part of its corporate social responsibility approach, and particularly Sustainable Development Objective #8: a bid for decent, dignified work and economic growth in a floriculture sector that is 100% formalized, providing quality jobs to women in the Colombian countryside. A strategy to ensure gender equity had to be part of our corporate social responsibility strategy.
